Facility Cores

The M-LEEaD Center supports research in environmental health sciences with three Facility Cores.

  • The Integrated Health Sciences Core (IHSC) provides high-quality translational research services that include consultation on study design, environmental statistics, and biospecimen acquisition, storage, and analysis. In addition, the IHSC maintains an online kiosk with information on biorepositories of human and animal samples for collaborative studies.
  • The Exposure Assessment Core (EAC) provides exposure assessment consultation for research proposals and projects, as well as analytical characterization of trace-level organic and inorganic contaminants in environmental and biological matrices.
  • The Omics and Bioinformatics Core (OBIC) is an established state-of-the-art facility that serves as a gateway to genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and metabolomics facilities and capabilities at UM, with services ranging from consultation on study design through laboratory assay performance to data analysis and presentation.
